Bhopal rings like wind chimes to my ears... Whats the Sindi Society's stance on the Fatwa by the Sindhi Panchayat in Priyanka Wadhwani's case. I am sure me and my fiends in Global Sindhis would be keenly interested in knowing abt it before even exploring any thoughts of joining hands with Sindhi Society..

As a member of the free press, I object to accusations that we tend to print “that all are the PRESS ,who Looking any where the FRINT PAGE News”. It’s absolutely deplorable to accuse and say something that can amount to libel even on a ‘internet page’.
It was not the print media that picked up on it. It was the electronic media that first went live with this information. Dr Motwani, with an completely open mind I request you that if there was no such 'edict nor fatwa' its imperative that the Bhopal Panchayat stand up and stop being the laughing stock of the world.
They should be able to go back on TV and news with their own counter claim. There have been no official statements issued to the effect from the members of that Panchayat.
If your aims and objectives are that high, I suggest that there is an official statement be issued.
I will make sure that reputable TV Channels - like Aaj Tak and Headline News, print media both in India and the Middle East will get to see it. But make sure it’s credible and from the same sources who have been accused of issuing that fatwa.
From a sindhi member of the free media

Dear Community friends.

I complety ageed with Saniya .

The official statement was already issued by the Bhopal Panchyat to oppose that so called FATWA and that was published in Local News Papar. But the still the matter in Air, may be because of MEDIA.

Anyway we at Sindhi Socoety strongly oppose any type of FATWA or so called restrictions on sindhi girls or others .

Do you sense cultural invasion by such usage?

In fact, being known for all my life as a polished, liberal human (no immodesty here), my non-sindhi friends are indeed dismayed at the Bhopal incident.

Why indeed did the our Sindhi brethren stoop to such levels. A Fatwa!!!! More fun concentrating on our khichri and sai bhajji.

No Sindhi Society with this reputation for me.

Best

When my grandparents migrated they left empty handed, I was told that they left everything behind including Fatwa.

Sindhis are one community who talk/walk/sleep only business. and for that they adapt to which ever country they live in, adopting their cuisine, culture, customs and language. You may not be able to recognise a Sindhi in foreign land because is so wrapped up in foreign blanket.
some of them even sacrificed their mother tongue and can openly boast about it.

They have never heard of this 'Fatwa' I wonder who has smuggled this 'Fatwa' in to the Sindhiansthan?
