Harry Sayeen! Good to hear that your forefathers belong to Thatta as I also belong to Thatta & I have some special love for Thatta. The history regarding Bhatia's is also very interesting and encouraging but my querry was related to sindhi's as a nation. As historically we never attacked anyother nation but we have always been attacked. Historically sindhi went to distant places just for trade and lived there decently and peacefully. Our last known emperor (talking about sindh as an independent country) was the great Raja Dahir and after that sindh has been plundered sometimes by Arabs, Afghans, Mughals,English etc. I suspect that living in a long time slavery might change the attitudes of our nation dramatically. That might be the reason that we have so many differences on the basis of religion, caste, creed and political affiliations. No one is uniformally thinking as a sindhi...

Pushpa and Rajiv! I understand it needs a big courage to learn a new language and I wish U guys all the best to achieve this goal. On the contaray childern can learn any language quite easily like my daughter learned french so quickly than me. She is tetralingual now(sindhi, english, urdu & french). I think it would be very nice if we create an environment for our childern to learn sindhi along with other languages. In this way we can save our language quite convincingly.

Long live sindh and sindhi...
