I think there is a slight variation on "Sindhis Divided by Religion" and on this particular discussion I wish to offer my views.

As far as my knowledge goes, there was no Pakistan before partition so there was equal migration and transition happening between the sindhis within India itself.

But a true confession is that we may speak Sindhi even today, but 99 % at our generation have lost the read and write ability which we never developed as we never went to the Sindhi Schools to learn the alphabetic order and the language.

No doubt, we are a peace loving people with a single theme " live and let live " and have also progressed on the world map. I am surprised to see flourishing Sindhis staying in colonies like Barbados, Dar-es-salaam, USA, Uk and the Far & Middleast, also a big surprising lot of them live in Bangladesh & Sri Lanka and have affluent houses and business.

One thing for sure we have lost is, we will or our next generation will never be able to read - and write Sindhi. The current trend of Sindhi Parents speaking to their children in English, Hindi or Urdu will also diminish the count of Speaking Sindhis from this Universe.

If there are solutions to harp over, I would like to participate and take the task further to bring in the Sindhi Domain with Sindhis who can speak, reading and writing their own Mother-tongue.

Until then, Long live Cindy :))
